it doesn’t get much better than the daily show with jon stewart. or does it?
when i first heard about the colbert report, i had my doubts. i wasn’t sure if stephen colbert could do a whole show on his own and pull it off. he was funny on the daily show, but a half hour show is a different story.
i think it’s better than the daily show. it’s kinda hard to believe.
what i find most entertaining is how similar it is to the o’reilly factor. the difference being that bill o’reilly is dead serious, whereas stephen colbert seems serious, but it’s all tongue-in-cheek. the colbert report is much more entertaining than the o’reilly factor. i’ll tell you that right now.
for instance, stephen does this thing called the “threat down” where he lists the five most dangerous things, and somehow bears always make the list. he has a lot of fear and hatred toward bears.
then, he is always putting people, places, and things “on notice”. and if he runs out of room on his “on notice” list, he moves stuff over to his “dead to me” list. i think he had to put ‘pant cuffs’ on the “on notice” list, which meant that ‘new york intellectuals’ had to be moved to the “dead to me” list.
everyone should watch or tivo this show.
