why is this important? it’s very simple. there is no reason why we, the people of america, need to give up any of our civil liberties to remain safe. the patriot act should never have been created in the first place. the constitution is there for a reason.
as we’ve also seen today, the u.s. government does not need permission to spy on its citizens. so it would seem that the patriot act is rather unnecessary.
