they so desperately want to be called musicians.
this is almost, and i do mean almost, as bad as that u2 “one” cover by the bank of america/mbna people.

well, it would seem that i’m having a bit of a problem getting my netflix. yes. yes, it would.
i was supposed to be getting when the levees broke disc 1 on saturday. it shipped on friday, but i never saw it. then today, i get an e-mail saying that netflix received the disc back. well, that’s amazing! it’s like i watched it without watching it.
several things could be happening here. 1.) it got delivered to the wrong address and the people watched it, then sent it back. 2.) the post office’s machines mangled it and they had no choice but to send it back. 3.) the mail man likes my taste in movies and decided to watch it and then send it back.
whichever option you choose, i’m still not getting my netflix!!! normally, it wouldn’t be a big deal, but with this one, if i didn’t report the shipping problem early enough, they may send me disc 2, which i won’t be able to watch, because i haven’t watched disc 1 and all my slots will be taken up so they can’t send disc 1 yet, which means i’ll be stuck with disc 2 until i send the other movie back. how’s that for a run-on sentence?
update: i received the top portion of the envelope in the mail today, sans dvd. option 2 it was. i’m still watching you mailman, if that really is your name.

several muscles in my right arm and shoulder are very sore today. i’m guessing it’s from the wii sports yesterday. i actually worked up a sweat and got my heart pumping with the boxing game.
i’d love to be tearing/straining more muscles, but i’ve got a paper to write. 899 more words to go, so i better get cracking.
there’s a reason why the wii is so popular. part of it is the lack of units available, but also it’s a very good system. innovative even. i can’t wait to really dig into zelda. i also want to get that wario ware: smooth moves game. it’s supposed to be wicked good. not enough time in the world!!! damn this paper!

tonight’s the night. in under a half hour, the show will start and it will be 3+ hours of celebrity fun. here are my predictions:
best picture: the departed
best director: martin scorsese (the departed)
best actor: will smith (the pursuit of happyness)
best actress: helen mirren (the queen)
best supporting actor: mark wahlberg (the departed)
best supporting actress: jennifer hudson (dreamgirls)
best original screenplay: little miss sunshine
best adapted screenplay: the departed
best foreign film: pan’s labyrinth
i win.

lost has been getting good. or specifically, it’s been getting slightly more coherent. but still there are many questions and very few answers.
like, why was juliet marked? lady friend’s genius theory is that it’s the only way for her to be able to go back to the main island, because otherwise the black smoke security device(s) would kill her. i think that makes perfect sense. the mark deceives the black smoke into thinking she is still a clean soul.
why do they keep saying that ben is alex’s father? is he like a step-dad or her real father?
where did isabel come from and why is she like “the sheriff?” she seems to be the judge and juror for juliet.
it was interesting that karl didn’t know who the brady bunch are. did he grow up on the islands or do they not have as much contact with the outside world as they claim?
can desmond really see the future? is charlie going to die? i read an interesting theory online about desmond’s “time rewind” flashback. it was actually just a dream where the island was trying to convince him not to save charlie. “the universe has a way of course-correcting itself.” i have a feeling charlie is going to be hanging out with desmond a lot.
