i popped my karaoke cherry. oh, yes, i did it. and i held nothing back. it was the best feeling to get up there and make a complete fool of myself.
to do it right, i had to pick the perfect song. not just any song, mind you. the one that would destroy everyone and leave me withered on the floor from exhaustion. so i picked “hero” by chad kroeger and josey scott from the spider-man soundtrack.
i wasn’t really that nervous, but i don’t generally enjoy speaking in front of crowds. singing was a whole other adventure, but i just let the music take me to a higher place. thanks to the butt rock, i just needed to bellow out the lyrics (mostly from memory) and my arms and body did the rest.
as much as i wanted to do a couple more songs, i decided it was best to take it slow. build up stamina. when you exert as much energy as i did, you have to regroup for the next phase. the war on karaoke is only beginning.
tonight was just a small nightclub. tomorrow: the world.
Wow. You’re my hero. You did what I can only dream of doing…and it looks like you did it to the max.
And they say that a hero can save us. I’m not gonna stand here and wait! (that one?)
yeah, that’s the only one, in my opinion. but i got scared before it was my turn, because some guy did enrique iglesias’ “hero” song and i thought he was stealing my idea.
