we returned from camping today. it was cold up there in the mountains. we had a great time anyway, just had to wear a lot of pants. it’s still funny to me that mid-60s weather is now “pants weather.” i love the heat.
when we got home, we decided to check out the local humane society with the intention of picking out a suitable canine companion. we’ve been wanting a dog for a while and now with a big house with a big backyard, we can make our dream a reality.
now, it wasn’t the intention necessarily to go home with a dog today, but we weren’t against the idea if we found the right one. we walked up and down the kennel corridor for about 5 minutes, not really seeing any dogs that just jumped out at us (except for the chihuahua named “paco.” he was frickin’ awesome.)
we were about ready to leave when we saw this little curled up mass of black fur. she came to the chain-link gate and started nibbling on my fingers. she seemed pretty active and crazy, so we decided to have a close encounter. they allowed us to take her outside and walk around. immediately, she calmed down. she followed us and walked quite well on the leash. when it came time to go back to sign the adoption papers, she didn’t want to go back. and who would want to go to a cold cage with barking dogs all around? they have to spay her and then we pick her up tomorrow at 4pm.
and you can be certain that if she poops in the shower, we’re not going to send her back to russia.

Oh!! She looks adorable! Is she an adult dog or a pup still? I can’t wait to see welcome home pictures!
Awww congratulations you two!! You’re first furbaby! =)
i do not know why i put that apostrophe re in your. quite possibly because i am becoming one of the many, many, many retards on the internets. it’s better than typing out weird signs like this one
