today, we got a visit from our favorite local stray dog. she’s not really a stray, but she kinda goes where she wants and we don’t exactly know where she’s living anymore. her name is canela and she is a beautiful mix breed. she’s got dark brownish short fur with some white on her chest, neck, and paws. this is the first time i’ve seen her without her collar, so i wasn’t sure it was her, but then she responded to her name, which pretty much convinced me. i intended on leaving her in the backyard, but she can easily jump 3 feet vertically from a standing position. she was gone and on her way. she seems to like to roam around. i’m going to go searching for her with daisy tomorrow and if we find her, we’re bringing her back for good. if her owners can’t keep track of her or even keep a collar on her, then dammit, they don’t deserve to have her.

indiana jones

in two days, we will finally get the next indiana jones movie. while i’m sure it will most likely follow the same model as the other movies, i can’t help but feel excited to see it. these adventures of such an iconic character are always enjoyable, even in spanish.

i’m just hoping that we’ll get some cameos and fun references in the new movie. i would love to see short round show up briefly. he was my favorite part in temple of doom.

i think shia will be a good sidekick, but i’m wondering if he will turn out to be indy’s son. it seems like that is what’s going to happen. even more so, it seems that they intend to have the movies spin off into a shia-centric franchise. i’m sure with the box office this one is going to deliver, it will be no trouble convincing the studio execs to green light a shia movie.

well, my classes and work study are over now. it’s nice to have some breathing time and not be constantly doing something. of course, summer classes are just around the corner, but i’m not in any mood to be going to school for the rest of my life.

here is the last song i made on the last day of work study. it’s called “finish line.” enjoy.

this weekend has been crazy. my mom and sister are visiting, as well as the big dogs known as “bishop tutu” and “daddy fat sacks.” since they were dropped off at 4:40 am friday morning, it has been a roller coaster of a few days. it’s hard to get a good night’s sleep when you have a fat dog jumping up in the middle of the night and putting his head on your chest.

this is daddy fat sacks lounging on the patio.

dogs on the bed

all three dogs trying to fit on a queen size bed.

bishop pool

we got a blow up pool for the dogs, then we decided to just use it ourselves. then bishop tutu decided to come in and be a retard. the best part was when he was going around trying to catch the fish painted on the side of the pool. we couldn’t figure out why he was pawing at the water and then biting it.

hudsy at the door

and, of course, daddy fat sacks watches out the back door in the hope that his mom and dad would rescue him from this terrible place.

channel lock pliers

“things tend to sprout legs around here.” - anonymous co-worker

i was looking in the bottom drawer of my cart and noticed that my channel locking pliers were not in there. then that feeling of dread washed over me as i remembered that i left them out in the shop while working on a stupid range rover with gigantic lug nuts that kept getting stuck in the socket. knowing full well that i would never find them back, i searched the shop anyway.

i think the joke is on the thief, however, since those pliers only cost me $1.333333333. so i didn’t really lose much. that’s the nice thing about buying cheap tools; when they go “missing,” it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to replace them.

later in the night, i was trying to find the location of an oil filter when one of my good co-workers replaced the batteries in my flashlight for free. one good deed erases the heinousness of getting a tool stolen.

the lesson of the day is to put your shit back when you’re done with it. i should have seen the warning signs.
