fall is here with a little colder weather. it’s now in the brisk upper 70s during the day and the 40s-50s at night. brrrrr! i almost thought about wearing socks yesterday.
can anyone tell me why “beverly hills chihuahua” is #1 at the box office for the second week? you’d think with the economy being what it is, people wouldn’t have enough money to go see crappy movies.
does anyone else find it strange that the economy took a major nose dive right before the election? i don’t want to think that it’s anything more than coincidence, but i’ve been thinking a lot about how easy it is to manipulate a populace. i’m just being cynical. but i do think that the media hype is ridiculous. wake me up when the depression hits, otherwise i don’t give a rip about what the dow jones is doing.
this brings me to the election. who’s going to win? since the economy has become the hot button topic, we can surmise that obama will win this election. if history repeats itself, and it often does, then it is the assumption that obama will win like clinton did 16 years ago. however, before clinton won, republicans were in office for 12 years, so that would suggest that mccain is destined to win. hmm. that is pretty inconclusive. if we are going simply on charisma, obama has it licked. he is definitely more charismatic than mccain, and both “w” and clinton were significantly helped by their charisma. of course, there is always the wild card possibility (can you say florida?). so there is really no way of knowing who will win. i have a feeling that obama will win the popular vote, but lose the electoral vote.
