i like dogs. i like being with them and trying to understand them. they are pretty easy, because they are animals with small brains. sometimes they surprise me, but usually they just eat and poop and love to love. but they are so innocent and i don’t think any animal deserves the treatment of being in a sort of domesticated slavery like what we humans have created for our canine friends. i see bums walking around with mangy mutts and they look like the happiest dogs on the planet. sure, they may not get a constant stream of food or regular grooming, but they get to roam with their bum friends and to them, that has got to be better than being locked in a house or backyard.
we went to a college hockey game downtown tonight. it was fun. i wish people could calm down their fervent team spirit, though. things like booing the other team or chanting that the other team sucks just go too far, in my opinion. i know my civilized dream world will never come to fruition, but i still remain hopeful.

I have often had the same thought about homeless people and their dogs. Dogs are awesome.
Yeah…I always feel bad when I own an animal. You want to own one, but you also want it to be free. In the end I choose to own animals if I can give them a lot of freedom and be around them. Otherwise, its feels kind of wrong to get an animal just to have it locked up on its own for most the day and night
