last week, our neighbor to the west told me his truck got stolen. today, our neighbor to the east came over and asked if we’d seen anything unusual today, because when they returned home after being gone since 7:30 this morning, they found their house broken into and their tv and computer stolen.
i feel bad for them. i wonder if we are next or if we got lucky. when we were outside talking to our neighbor, i couldn’t help but think what would happen if our stuff got stolen. would i be upset? not as upset as the thieves, when they break into our house and find nothing but shit. it gives me great happiness to have possessions with very little value. we have a tv that would maybe fetch $20 from a pawn shop. the frickin’ wii is worth more than the 27 inch tube television. ha! to all the would-be thieves out there, i say, “come and get it.”
besides, we already have a security system.
