We’re Gonna Miss Him

He was a great guy, my father-in-law. He laughed and loved and lived like no other. In the six years I knew him, he was always there for me and treated me like one of his own. And although he was fairly hard-of-hearing, he seemed to hear me just fine. After my accident, he let me borrow his truck without even the slightest hesitation.

He was born on August 7th and named after Saint Cajetan, the patron saint of gamblers, workers, and good fortune. It’s rather fitting, because he was a hard worker and dedicated to everything he did. He also liked to go to the casino, but he rarely won. That’s because his good fortune was not wealth, it was an amazing family, his enormous heart, and his courageous spirit.
